STUDIO20 RESOURCES

The Story Behind the Resources

My coaching resources give you a little room to pause, explore your thoughts and let ideas land. They might help you notice something you hadn’t seen before, ask a different question or follow a spark of curiosity. I share them freely because I’d love for them to find their way into your hands, your notebook, your day and wherever else you fancy taking them.

It started with a love of making things

I’ve wanted to write books since I was a kid.

Just books. Little collections of ideas, questions, stories and things I had discovered along the way. I loved the idea of making something, putting it together and handing it to someone else to explore.

So, in a roundabout way, that’s what I’m finally doing.

I believe we sometimes need a little space to notice what’s going on, ask a different question or follow a spark of curiosity.

That’s where these resources begin.

Yoga, coaching, writing and collecting sparks

It started back in 2010, when I did my first yoga teacher training. At the end of the training, one of my teachers said:

“Marianne, you are a yoga teacher.
Please go and teach. We have no other feedback for you!”

So I did.

I kept learning, teaching and writing things down. Over the years, I collected questions, exercises, reflections, journal prompts and little ideas that found their way into my yoga classes, coaching sessions, workshops and my own notebooks.

Some have been sitting around for years, while others are brand new. Some have been rewritten so many times I’ve lost count. I keep gathering them, playing with them, testing them and reshaping them until they become something I’d actually want to use myself

Alex and Lucia are part of the process too.

I call my ChatGPT Alex and my Claude Lucia. They’ve become part of the Studio20 kitchen table, alongside all the voices I’ve gathered over the years through therapy, counselling, books, teachers, conversations and my own experiences. They’re two more voices I can think with, question things with and sometimes have a good old debate with.

I use them to untangle ideas, explore possibilities, ask better questions and see things from different angles.

The ideas, questions and reflections still come from my own experience, coaching practice and way of working. I review, question, edit and shape everything before it becomes a Studio20 resource.

The human part of it all

Coaching is something different.

There’s a human being on the other side of the conversation. I bring my own body, breath and presence into the room, listening carefully and noticing what is happening as we talk. That embodied presence can create the conditions for co-regulation, giving both of us a little space to slow down, settle and breathe.

Alex and Lucia can help me think, play with ideas and find words. They can’t sit beside you, breathe with you or notice the small things that happen between the words.

That part is human.

Little things to explore

I’m self-publishing these resources one by one as Studio20 resources: journals, workbooks, handouts and audios, along with all sorts of little things to scribble on, think about and return to.

They’re not meant to be perfect little packages of wisdom, but things to play with. Take what’s useful, leave what isn’t, print them out, use them on your phone or iPad, take one to the beach, keep a notebook nearby or come back to something months later. There’s no right way to use them.

Why the resources are free

Keeping it small and simple is my motto.

I want these resources to be easy to find, easy to use and easy to come back to. I don’t keep a mailing list because I know how quickly an inbox can fill up with things you meant to read, save or come back to.

I’d rather let these resources find their way to you. Wander in, find something that catches your eye, download it and take it with you. Come back whenever you fancy and see what else you find.

No inbox clutter. No “just checking in!” emails. Just a little space, whenever you need it.

I rather like it that way.

Want to encourage me to make more?

If you’ve found something useful and would like to help me keep making more, you’re very welcome to make a contribution.

There’s no fixed amount and no expectation.

A kind message, sharing a resource or simply coming back for another one all count too.

If you’d like to contribute financially, the simplest way is a direct transfer to my N26 account:

Your support helps me keep creating these resources and, as Studio20 grows, bring other people into the process too.

Designers. Photographers. Writers. Technologists. People who can help these little sparks travel further.

The more support comes in, the more I can put back into making, sharing and growing the work.

And honestly …

Knowing that something I made has been printed out, scribbled on, tucked into a bag or taken to the beach makes me ridiculously happy.

So thank you for being here.

There are quite a few more books waiting to get out into the world.
