Hi, I’m Marianne

I have always been someone who listens. It's simply what I do.

For more than twenty years, I've listened, learned and guided people, as a teacher, a student counsellor, a yoga teacher, and now as a coach. People have always come to me with their stories, their questions and the things they haven't quite said out loud yet.

I love conversations about ideas, curiosity and what might be possible. That's often where the sparks begin to appear.

Recognising sparks

When people start sharing their stories, ideas and questions, something lights up, in them and in me. Small sparks begin to appear, a bit like catching tiny pieces of confetti in the air: ideas that were already there, simply waiting for a little attention.

People often tell me they feel at ease sharing with me, and that something in my presence helps them open up.

What I've lived

I recognise that because I've needed it myself. I know what each of these feels like: the holiday that makes you wonder if you could stay longer, the years split between two places, never quite finishing unpacking, the full move where you build an entire life from nothing. I've lived all three.

My own path was never straight. Before I turned fourteen, my family had already moved four times, including two years in Brussels, where I learned French, most of which I've since forgotten. I found my people later, at an international school, among others who'd also lived between cultures. That's where my English became fluent, through friends from all over the world, and where I first felt at home: surrounded by people who were curious, open-minded, and genuinely interested in each other's stories.

Along the way

Since then, moving and rebuilding have run through my whole life, from a summer as a camp counsellor in the US at eighteen, to an overland trip from Kenya to Cape Town, to the places I've called home since: Madrid, Amsterdam, Mozambique, South Africa, and since 2019, Mallorca.

My path has taken me through teaching, student counselling and content writing. Today, my work brings together yoga and coaching.

What I've learned along the way is simple: we rarely need to have everything figured out. Often, one small step is enough to get something moving. I call these Momentum Creating Activities.

Studio20

The name is a small wink to my birthday on September 20, and to the many sparks of ideas that move through life.

Living across so many places taught me the value of a slower rhythm, and how much easier it is to notice an idea when you give it room to be heard. Studio20 grew from that: a place where people pause, find their footing, and let ideas take shape in their own time.

Not something you wait for, but something you create, by following a spark of curiosity and seeing where it wants to land.

"The calmness you always emit is so incredibly comforting. Working with you feels very safe, comfortably familiar and above all enjoyable." — Maartje Monné
