Studio20 | About Marianne

A little about me

My name is Marianne de Kuyper, and I’m the person behind Studio20, a space for gentle personal coaching in Amsterdam, Mallorca and online.

The name Studio20 is a playful wink
to my birthday on September 20
and to the many sparks that are always on my mind.

Over the years I’ve followed many different paths.
I’ve moved homes and countries, explored different kinds of work, and often chosen curiosity over certainty.

Along the way I worked as an English teacher, student counsellor, content writer, yoga teacher and coach. Each role taught me something about people, about listening, and about the quiet moments when life asks us to pause and reconsider what truly matters.

Living in places like South Africa, Mozambique and Spain deepened my appreciation for slower rhythms. Being close to nature and different cultures helped me see that there isn’t just one way to live or work. That realisation stayed with me.

Today I spend my time in Amsterdam and on Mallorca, choosing a life with space for nature, simplicity and creativity.

Together with my partner Hugo we consciously chose a different way of living. I used to say that one day life might bring me a Hugo and it did.

We decided not to have children or pets, which gave us the freedom to travel, live abroad and explore the world in our own way.

Our homes are small and simple. In both places we live in a studio or casita of about 28 square meters. For us, it is more than enough space for two people and a life that unfolds mostly outdoors.

We realised we don’t need a large house to feel at home. What matters more to us is freedom, lightness and time to enjoy the world around us.

We also choose to keep daily life fairly quiet.
There is no television, radio or constant news cycle in our home, and social media plays only a small role.

Instead, our days are shaped by simple rituals such as yoga, reading, reflection, a deck of cards, long walks and time close to nature.

Over time this has become a life with fewer impulses and more space to notice what truly matters.

Over the years I have consciously shaped a different rhythm for myself.

Slowing down.
Doing less.
Being more.

When I’m not supporting people through Studio20, you might find me staring at the clouds, standing barefoot on the earth, or thinking up new ideas for projects, concepts or eBooks I would love to share.

I love being near the sea, walking along the beach and watching nature grow and change around me.

Those quiet moments are often where new ideas begin to appear. Studio20 grew from that same rhythm of curiosity, reflection and creativity.

It is a space where people can pause, reconnect with themselves and rediscover what matters most. In small ways each day can begin to feel a little more like a HOLYday, a playful nod to holiday.
