Omgaan met Geluid

What began as a course-based platform has naturally grown into a more personal way of working. Today, this work continues within Studio20, where I offer one-on-one support around selective sound sensitivity, also known as misophonia.

From courses to one-on-one support

Omgaanmetgeluid.nl started as a Dutch course-based platform for people dealing with sound sensitivity and sensory overwhelm. The intention was to offer insight, understanding, and practical tools in a clear and structured way.

Lived experience

I speak from lived experience. I am highly sensitive myself and have dealt with misophonia for many years. Along the way, I explored different therapies and ways of understanding what was happening in my system. These experiences shaped my own perspective on sound sensitivity.

I don’t see sound sensitivity as something to fix, but as a signal that invites listening, slowing down, and choice.

How I work now

That is why the focus has shifted from courses to one-on-one personal sessions. I work with people who notice that sounds and impulses trigger reactions such as fight, flight, freeze, or fawn, and who want to experience more calm, safety, and space in their daily lives.

Personal sessions

In these sessions, we slow down and gently explore what is happening in your system, at your pace. I work one-on-one through Studio20, offering a flexible and attentive space that adapts to what you need: conversation, reflection, creative inquiry, or simply room to breathe. The work is grounded, personal, and responsive.

Invitation

If sound sensitivity is affecting your well-being or daily functioning, you are warmly invited to get in touch.

With care,

Marianne de Kuyper
